Citrosuco is a European leader in the production of fruit juice and juice concentrates. This process generates a substantial volume of wastewater. Although an on-site treatment facility was already in place, Citrosuco turned to Pantarein Water in 2014 to increase its capacity in a sustainable way.
The existing biological treatment plant was upgraded with an air lift membrane filtration system. This allowed Citrosuco to double its treatment capacity without major structural modifications. As a result, the company can now consistently meet discharge standards.
To reduce sludge disposal costs, an indrumming unit was added to increase the dry solids content. Additionally, a fine screen was installed at the source, removing up to 20% of the load before entering the treatment system.
Pantarein Water continues to support Citrosuco with operational follow-up, ensuring optimal system performance over time.
