Sustainable water management at Vanheede: wastewater treatment and reuse in the recycling sector

At Vanheede Environment Group, innovation and sustainability go hand in hand. One of the activities at their site in Mouscron, Belgium, is washing recycled plastics,  a process that consumes around 60 m³ of water per hour. To make this process more sustainable, Vanheede partnered with Pantarein Water to treat and reuse the water.

Innovative water treatment to prevent waste

Pantarein Water installed a dissolved air flotation (DAF) system, an advanced physico-chemical technology. This ensures that wastewater is not lost but fed back into the production cycle. For Vanheede, this water reuse approach brings clear benefits:

  • Reduced freshwater consumption and a smaller environmental footprint.
  • More efficient recycling processes through cleaner washing water.
  • Lower costs for water supply and wastewater management.

At Pantarein Water, we believe that innovative treatment technologies are key to building a more sustainable future. Our collaboration with Vanheede demonstrates how circular water solutions can have a positive impact on both the environment and business operations.
